MARÍA, NORMANDY, obtained a degree in Psychology and has experience as an educator. She has her own educational service agency for children and 25 years of experience working in social services and volunteering in New York City. She created a professional, civil, and social organization for families with the goal of promoting the quality of life of mothers and their families through preventive education.
The experience of twenty-five years of volunteer social work and a degree in Psychology which she began with her parents at an early age in New York City, and helping families in vulnerable communities has allowed her to verify the great need to educate families about the importance of preventive psycho-education. This is a topic that, for many in these communities, may be taboo and thus prevent them from reaching out for help. Education is essential in order to demystify the issue.
To promote mental health through preventive education. Mental Health First Aid training, conferences, workshops and lectures, is the methods that our program uses to benefit families in vulnerable communities in New York City, that will benefit mothers and their families.
